 Modestly molded in a mid size frame, Scooby, DJ Whoo Kid’s dog, is an unlikely choice for a rapper, DJ, or any hip hop affiliate. In an exclusive interview with UnleashMagazine.com, the G Unit DJ and Sirius Satellite Radio host talks about his dog and why he chose his canine counterpart.
What’s your dog’s name?
Scooby. Cause Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoon. So I had to name my dog Scooby.
That’s my #1 cartoon. My car has Scooby Doo mats. Everything has Scooby Doo. Im Scooby Dooed out. I almost named my son Scooby. My wife was like hell no. So I named my dog Scooby.
[Laughs] Wasn’t Scooby a Great Dane?
Oh, for real? Yeah, that was what made it so funny, cause he was a big dog and my dog was small.
How long have you had your dog?
Going on like ten years maybe. At least 9 or ten years. I got him when he was an adult. He still looks like a puppy, but he’s old.
Really, how old was he when you got him?
He was already an adult, he was like 4 or 5. I didn’t really want a puppy. I tried that once and it was a nightmare!
 What kind of dog is he?
He’s a terrier/ cocker spaniel. He’s a medium sized dog. I don’t have any pit bulls like 50 and Lloyd Banks. All these guys got pitbulls and German shepherds. Like Tony Yayo has a German Shepherd.
Most celebrity owners favor purebreds, why do you choose a mix breed?
Naw man, I don’t know. I like cute little dogs. 50 got like a miniature Shih Tzu. It’s a really tiny dog. It’s like the size of my hand. He named it Oprah. [Laughs.]
What color is Scooby?
He’s like a light tan mixed with white. He’s a scruffy dog.
Where did you Scooby?
I got him from North Shore Animal League in Long Island. My girl that I was living with at the time wanted to get a pet. So I was like lets get a regular-medium sized dog. I thought she was gonna take care of him but I wound up taking care of him. Then we broke up so I ended up keeping him.
 Does he travel with you?
Yeah, like we took him too Hawaii. I don’t really travel with him too much. I usually leave him with my mom. They got these dogs hotels around here. When were away for a week or 2 we leave him there. They’re expensive too! I’ve left him with 50 cent, with Banks, man everybody knows Scooby!
Has he been on T.V.?
Ahhhh….probably on youtube. Just walking by or something.
Do you do anything extravagant for him or buy expensive clothing or collars?
Nawww, I don’t do that, but I got him a Snoop Doggy coat. You know Snoop Dogg had a dog clothing line, so he gave me a coat and some shoes. I got him a sweater though for the winter. I don’t ice out my dog or anything. He already wears the shades, so that’s good!
